VWGIS colleagues organise after work event in Hanover
A relaxed after work party with 40 participants took place at the VWGIS location in Hanover on 7 July. The event once again showed how much fun it is to meet on site and to focus on direct personal exchange.
The idea and implementation was initiated and designed by the VWGIS colleagues from Hanover. All VWGIS employees and their families as well as friends were invited in a circular email to let the after-work hours come to an end with shared conversations, tasty pizza and relaxed unplugged music.
A cool location and chatty employees who also chat privately away from the projects. First holiday stories were told and funny Tik Tok and Instagram videos were exchanged. Of course, the Summer Jam also served as a networking opportunity and a chance to meet up with colleagues from the Volkswagen environment.
From 6 p.m. onwards, the live music of "The Driftwood Orchestra (Stephan Püschel)" and Margarita Maposse was listened to in the beanbags and deckchairs. The cost of the musical accompaniment was covered in advance by voluntary donations from VWGIS staff. Many employees took the opportunity to request their personal favourite songs for the evening. One highlight, for example, was the interpretation of the pop classic "Day Light" by the No Angels as a rock version. The repertoire ranged from dance classics to the closing track "Purple Rain" by Prince.
Christian, who is responsible for the site, draws a positive conclusion and would like to take this opportunity to thank all the organisers:
"An event privately organised by employees - live music on the beautiful Pelikanplatz - with family and also partners and friends from the VW organisation. We were able to spend a relaxed evening with our loved ones in a relaxed atmosphere with live music.
We were particularly pleased to see colleagues who had travelled from Braunschweig, Wolfsburg and Gifhorn to attend. We see this as a signal that we have done everything right with this idea!
Colleague Lydia is also convinced by the event:
"We needed an easy concept without a lot of fuss. Pizza, folding chairs, music and drinks we brought ourselves were just the right thing! Many smiling faces on site showed once again how connected we are with each other at VWGIS."
At the end of the evening, all participants agreed: This needs to be repeated! That's why the Summer Jam 2.0 is already planned for August.
